Hey, I’m Cat

I’ve led businesses and made games for nearly two decades. Now I help others do the same.

Along the way, I've worn many hats. I started as a developer and worked my way up to founder, CEO, CTO, CPO. I’ve worked on Flash-era hits to AAA, mobile, AR/XR/VR experiences and co-founded my own studio.

I’m here to support you while you build a life and career you love.

I live in Edinburgh, Scotland and support games founders all around the world.

My Career Journey

I joined the games industry in 2008 on Moshi Monsters, where we went from a small beta to global phenomenon with 80 million players worldwide.

As Flash faded, I taught myself Unity & C# and from 2012 onwards I helped indie and AAA studios worldwide to ship games. I worked with Unity, MediaTonic (Epic Games), Preloaded, The Mill, A Brave Plan, Six-to-Start and many more.

In 2023, I co-founded Vesper, led product and dev team, grew a remote team of 12, and secured seven-figure funding twice.

In 2025 I launched Goth Boss Studios to support others wishing to succeed sustainably, avoiding burnout and all the common struggles associated with leadership.

Why I do this

After years in the game dev trenches, riding the rollercoaster ups-and-downs of the industry, battling multiple burnouts and still feeling like an imposter, in 2024 I got the news that I had finally got the all-clear from cancer. That moment was a turning point in how I think about success.

I realised what matters most isn’t just shipping the next big thing or working your way up the corporate ladder. It’s sustaining your purpose while building a life you love.

I want to help other people build things they’re passionate about without sacrificing their happiness or mental health.
